Why we started: Real solutions for real workers

Our company wasn't born in an office, but on muddy construction sites, surrounded by noise, concrete, machinery, and long work shifts. We've spent more than a decade building international projects and experienced the same problems our clients face today.

One theme was present everywhere: accommodation . It's not just about finding a place to sleep, but also about finding the right kind of accommodation.

The following stories from people we met during our site visits revealed what we noticed:

“Imagine giving your all during a 12-hour shift—and then returning to a room that drains you even more.”

We met Marco, a crane operator from Northern Italy, on a project in Southern Germany.

He was experienced, reliable, and used to long days—10 hours on site, six days a week.

Under time pressure, his company had put him up in a small guesthouse above a local bar.

During the first few nights, he tried to ignore the nightly noise—shouts, music, chairs being dragged across the floor.

There was no proper kitchen, just a microwave in the hallway.

He spent most evenings eating ready meals, alone in his noisy room, with earplugs that didn't help much.

But after a week of irregular sleep, the noise caught up with him: He became irritable, had difficulty concentrating, and miscalculated while unloading steel beams.

One morning Marco said quietly to us:

"Work isn't the problem—I just can't rest."

That's when we realized: productivity doesn't end on the construction site - it begins where the shift ends.

No matter how qualified or motivated someone is, without a quiet place to recharge, they cannot perform at their best - and they should not be expected to.

“We stood in those safety shoes, staring at cold ceilings, and wished for only one thing: a place that felt human.”

We were in the middle of a project in southern Poland and arrived late at night after a 14-hour drive - tired, hungry, and wanting some rest.

The company had accommodated us in a small business hotel on the outskirts of the city.

From the outside it looked good: clean lobby, polite receptionist, the usual standard.

But the rooms told a different story.

The heating barely worked, the windows weren't properly sealed, and you could hear doors slamming in the hallway until late into the night.

There was no fridge, no kettle, and no real place to sit other than the edge of the bed.

We tried to sleep, but in the cold and the noise it was almost impossible to rest.

On the fourth night we started our shifts already exhausted.

No one complained out loud - but it was noticeable in our posture, in the silence at breakfast, in the slower pace of life on site.

We didn't need luxury.

We needed a place where we could breathe, relax, and feel like people—not just names on a booking list.

Because after a long day in safety shoes, you don't need much - just a space that says: You are important.

“Being far away from home is hard enough. We ensure your employees never feel like they have to go without comfort, dignity, and care.”

Lena, a construction site coordinator from Hamburg, led a team of 15 technicians working on projects in five different countries.

Her work week was supposed to focus on planning and coordination - but instead she found herself booking hotels, checking apartments, and solving last-minute problems.

She spent about 40% of her time searching for keys, clarifying check-in times, or solving problems with missing beds and broken heaters.

One week in Hungary, one of her team members, Thomas, found himself without a room at a rural guesthouse due to overbooking.

The receptionist shrugged, the line was busy, and there were no alternatives nearby.

So Thomas spent the night in the company car, wrapped in his jacket, trying to get a few hours of rest before his 6:30 a.m. shift.

The next day, the mood on site had changed. A hint of frustration hung in the air.

Morale dropped, and with it performance.

Even Lena, who usually remains calm under pressure, admitted: "This night set us back days - mentally more than technically."

When she spoke to us later, she said something we have never forgotten:

"If someone would just take care of this part—the accommodation—I could focus on what I was hired to do. On the people. On the goals. On the project."

That's why we - Elite Global Services - exist to carry this invisible burden so your teams don't have to.

"He wasn't burned out by work, but by everything that surrounded him."

Stefan, a pipe fitter from Slovakia, had a three-week assignment near Lyon.

The construction site was well organized, the deadlines were realistic, and the team was professional.

But the cheap hotel his company had chosen? Another story.

The walls were so thin he could hear every footstep in the hallway. The overhead light flickered throughout the night, and the breakfast room opened too late for his 6 a.m. shifts.

He began skipping the morning altogether—no food, no coffee, just a quiet ride in the squad car.

After work, he returned to a cold room, with no kitchen or refrigerator. He ate takeout food on the edge of his bed and was too exhausted to call home.

Every day he seemed a little more distant. Less talkative. More tense.

At the end of the second week, his team leader noticed that he was standing there with a blank expression during the safety meetings.

Then came the small but costly mistake: He had misread a valve setting, which resulted in an unplanned shutdown.

No one was injured, but the lost hours affected the schedule.

When asked if he was okay, Stefan simply said, "I'm not tired from work. I'm tired of everything else."

He didn't need a bonus. He needed a place that respected him as more than just a worker.

Because real performance doesn't come from pushing yourself harder, but from recovering properly.

Comfort isn't a luxury. It's part of the infrastructure. And we deliver that.
